Visitors to Frankfort should fly into the nearby Blue Grass Airport to the southeast in Lexington or the Louisville International Airport to the west in Louisville. Capital City Airport is located one mile southwest of Frankfort but is primarily used for general aviation and some chartered flights.

Frankfort is located about 55 miles east of Louisville and approximately 30 miles northwest of Lexington in Central Kentucky. Frankfort is easily accesable from either Louisville or Lexington via I-64. From I-64, hop onto US 127 if driving from Louisville or hop onto US 60 if driving from Lexington.
